SubletNY vs Furnished Finder for furnished stays in NYC

Use Furnished Finder when your housing search is national, when you want landlords who already set up their places for 13-week contracts, or when you want to search around a specific hospital in a city other than New York. Use SubletNY when the assignment is in Manhattan, Brooklyn or Queens: the inventory is sublets from leaseholders rather than landlord-run units, nobody pays to list, and there are pages for the neighbourhoods around each major hospital and campus.

Facts about Furnished Finder are taken from the sources listed at the end and were last checked on October 28, 2026. Furnished Finder is not affiliated with SubletNY.

When Furnished Finder is the better choice

  • Any city other than New York, or an assignment that moves between cities.
  • Landlords who run furnished units as a business and are used to contract dates and hospital schedules.
  • A landlord-run unit rather than a tenant's own apartment, if that is what you prefer.

When SubletNY is the better choice

  • Depth in New York: sublets from leaseholders in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens that a national directory does not see.
  • Free for the person listing, so a leaseholder away for a 13-week stretch can post without a yearly fee.
  • Pages for the neighbourhoods near NYU Langone, Mount Sinai, Columbia, Bellevue and the other hospitals and campuses, with the listings closest first.

Common questions

Is Furnished Finder free for travel nurses?
Yes. Tenants pay no fees; the landlord pays a yearly listing fee per property. SubletNY is free on both sides.
Does SubletNY have housing near NYC hospitals?
Yes. Each hospital and campus has a page listing the sublets within walking distance, closest first, with the subway lines that serve it. The travel-nurse guide links them.
Which has more listings in New York?
I do not publish a comparison count, and neither does Furnished Finder; the honest answer is to search both for your dates. SubletNY shows its live count per neighbourhood on every place page.

Room in Shared Apartment

Greetings, You have discovered our favorite place in all of New York. Located on one of the oldest streets in the city, facing a 100+ year old tree, this apartment is known as 'The Treehouse'. Home to an Artist and a Scholar. Thanks to our new edition of tatami mats, our shared living space has been converted to a 'Teahouse' of sorts. It also has a futon we added to be considered as a couch, however, it is also able to be put to the side for more space. A creative space to stimulate inspirational growth. I have lived in this unit the past 9 years with my roommate and we are currently looking for someone to sublet the bedroom downstairs. This was both of our first homes in the city and our only reason for staying. We are looking for someone who understands the energy of the space and who is willing to look after it with the same care as we do as well as bring their own creative force. In a city like NYC, a sacred refuge such as this treehouse becomes a nourishing oasis that never ceases to recharge and revitalize. Perfect for the fall season of new york weather. The rooftop terrace has some of the best roof views I personally have experienced. The entire apartment can be considered a duplex, with a roommate (Mohamad) who lives upstairs. He is a scholar specializing in Islamic Studies at Columbia University. The area the roof faces is a garden of the building across the street, so it is extremely quiet. You do not hear any traffic. It is also home to a variety of bird species such as Blue Jays, Red Cardinals there are also Falcons and Hawks that make their way onto the roof. To watch the tree change seasonally is a tranquil gift. Ideally this is a place for someone who wishes to seek inspiration within New York City, or someone who wishes to live like an Artist. We have spent the last few years crafting this space as an Artists residency that has housed creative friends and family from all walks of life. Ideally, we keep this artistic energy strong within the Treehouse and are looking for like minded individuals who work within the creative field This place can be more or less considered a New York City retreat, or an Artist's residency. Perfect for someone's first visit to NYC as it will set the tone for what the city truly has to offer if you are able to sit and listen. Also ideal for someone who knows the city and is looking for a unique perspective to reignite forgotten passion. This is a very special place and has evolved and come to life over the years. It is very sensitive to energies and we are looking for someone who respects this. This place is to be treated more so like a living gallery or museum. We look forward to seeing what story you will share with this space. It is a companion in and of itself and will look after you, as you look after it. There is a NO outside guest and pet policy unfortunately. Due to the nature of this space and the items within it. Exceptions may apply so please inquire. There are 2 bedrooms and 1 shared living space. PLEASE NOTE: Dining area is in the hallway where there is a foldable bar and stools. Will explain upon inquiry and upon tours. Pictures are there for reference. Please note that there will be an interview process with potential applicants. We are looking for someone to sublet from November 1st - March 1st. (For the fall and winter season) However, dates are flexible and prorated options are available however, rent adjustments may become applied. If you are looking for something month to month please let us know. Rates are subject to change based off availability. Will require Rent + Security deposit. Price does not include utilities. With internet the total ranges but averages around 100$ per person. A list of amenities: - Wifi plus smart TV - Microwave - Kitchen sink filter - Shower head filter - AC in both rooms - Full plant nursery. - Treehouse Teahouse room - Curated Tea blends - TV with internet access - Library of books - Rooftop access - Private roof deck - In building laundry drop off service - Local recommendations - and other little vibe tips and tricks that we can go over. Serious inquiries only. Thank you and have a beautiful day.
